Caribbean heads to Houston

Caribbean Airlines today officially announced plans to launch direct nonstop service from Houston, Texas (IAH) to George Town, Guyana (GEO) with onward connectivity to Port of Spain, Trinidad (POS). This new service will begin on March 22, 2022. Flights will operate 3x weekly from Terminal D at George Bush International Airport on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from March 22, 2022, to June 30, 2022 In the official announcement, Caribbean Airlines CEO Gavin Medera said "We are delighted to of this new service at a time when Caribbean Airlines is actively resetting expectations our customers with our new aircraft and various refreshed products to enhance overall customer experience." Medera continued: "Caribbean Airlines has been a consistent partner with Guyana and the Guyanese diaspora so it's only fitting that we mobilize resources to support the expanding commercial activity in Guyana. This new operation will provide direct connectivity between Guyana and Houston, which is the base of many of the largest o companies in the world. Another plus is that customers also have the option to connect to Port of Spain for business and leisure."

Guyana's new discoveries in oil is a strong reason why the airline has decided to launch this route. ExxonMobil which is now firmly established in Guyana is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
